Flying Falcons Make it Eight Straight!

On a cloudy cold Sunday in May, the Flying Falcons took to the field in Stafford to play the Herricanes. The Falcons played against a very aggressive Stafford team. The Falcons worked hard right from the start. Ani had a great game, dominating against Stafford the whole first half. Emma had multiple great crosses and beat Stafford to the ball numerous times. Although the Falcons dominated the ball the whole first half, the whistle blew and the first half ended 0-0.

The Falcons regrouped and started the second half on fire. One minute and thirty seconds into the second half Ava hit a great cross right across the front of the Herricanes goal. Amanda took the cross and slammed the ball into the Stafford net for the 1-0 lead. Rebecca and Sophie kept the ball out of the Falcon backfield. On the few occasions that the ball did break through, Jenny stopped the ball and returned the ball into play with great kicks. Grace and Marissa played very hard all game, out running Stafford at every turn. Julia had two great corner kicks that brought the ball into play right in front of the Herricanes goal. As the second half continued, the game became more physical. Paige got tripped and had to come out of the game with a knee injury.  The Falcons held on in the face of an ugly Stafford last minute push to win the game 1-0. The Falcons are now an amazing 8-0 on the season.
