Flying Falcons Outstanding in Preseason Tournament

Saturday March 15, 2007-  In the very cold of Saturday morning, the Flying Falcons played as a team for two great games. The team put two and half months of weekend practices to the test in the fields of Freehold. In the morning opener, the Falcons played strong against the Holmdel Stallions. The Falcons kept with Holmdel the whole way. During the break between games, the Falcons made the trek to Dunkin Donuts. Many Falcons risk bodily harm by crossing the street on foot. It was decided that the doughnuts were worth risking life and limb. A few Falcons even had ice cream. This reporter observed Michele, Maggie and Sophie all warming up by eating ice cream!

In typical Falcon’s fashion, the sugar rush paid off. In the second game, the Falcons dominated against their tournament hosts, Freehold. The Falcons got off to an early lead with two goals within the first 8 minutes. The Falcons held the lead the whole game. Jenny Guerriero and Sophie Lozowski traded halves in goal to stop nearly every Freehold attempt to score. The game ended with the Falcons on top 3-1. Coach Tom was pleased with the Falcon’s passing game and aggressiveness on the field.
