From November 11, 2007 Flying Falcons Continue Spectacular Season

Sunday November 11, 2007 - The Flying Falcons continued their winning ways today beating Beachwood 4-0, in their final home game of the season. The exciting game was played in very cold conditions, under the lights at the Wall Township Soccer Complex. The Flying Falcons, playing without vacationing midfielder Ava Sardoni, rose to the occassion, with a true team effort. Goals were scored by four different Falcons.

Maggie Wasacz started things off with a goal minutes into the first half. Maggie said after the game that she wanted to score a goal for her mother, since it was her birthday. Moments after the first goal was scored, Rebecca Malos punched in another goal for the Falcons to take an early 2-0 lead. The defense held strong with goalie Jenny Guerriero making several spectacular stops. Sophie Lozowski followed with another great goal to end the half with the Flying Falcons sitting with a commanding 3-0 lead.

With their defense holding strong Coach Tom moved Sophie into goal and put Jenny on the front line.  Jenny was commanding on offense, doing a great job of confusing Beachwood’s players. Sophie did a great job in goal, stopping Beachwood at every turn. Several minutes into the second half, Emma Korolik pounded a ball deep into Beachwood’s goal for the Falcons fourth score of the day. In his post game speech, Coach Tom announced the Jenny Guerriero was the $10,000,000 player of the game.

The Falcons play their final game of the season, this Sunday against Monmouth Coast, in Sea Girt, at 3pm.
